There are so many places to explore in Abu Dhabi! The UAE capital is home to incredible museums (including a mind blowing car museum) and some unique places to visit that you’ll absolutely love. One such place is the Emirates National Auto Museum – a one-of-a-kind car museum. If you fancy cars, then this museum is a must visit in Abu Dhabi. Home to hundreds of cars and vehicles and several interesting attractions, the Emirates National Auto Museum is a fascinating sight to behold both inside and out.
Located on Abu Dhabi – Liwa Road, this unique museum belongs to His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan. Designed to store the vast collection of his personal cars, the museum was built in a unique pyramid shape that actually emerges over the horizon even before you drive up towards the museum.
This museum, hosting the world’s largest car collection, is a dream come true for photographers and people looking for that perfect Instagram shot! And before you can even step inside the museum, you are hooked on to a giant Jeep that is actually a fully fledged furnished apartment! You’ll also love the quirky monster truck, dubbed as the 'earth on wheels' which unbelievably includes an eight-bedroom motorhome complete with a balcony. And they are all working vehicles!
Don’t forget about the old British Caledonian jumbo jet that sits behind the museum! The deserted airplane is a fascinating addition to this quirky museum and an absolute unique sight to capture on your camera.
Once inside the museum, you are sure to be bowled over by the line-up of fancy cars and vehicles. Some of the collection has even been featured on the BBC television programme Top Gear.
Boasting over 200 cars, the museum includes off-road vehicles, classic American cars, a Mercedes ‘rainbow’ collection, an 1885 steam-powered Mercedes, the world’s largest truck and more. In addition, you can view a large number of customised cars, military vehicles, taxis and other vehicles. You’re guaranteed to be mesmerised by the passion behind this mammoth collection.
The Emirates National Auto Museum is definitely one of the most jaw-dropping places to visit in Abu Dhabi!
