Mangrove National Park is one of the best places to see in Abu Dhabi for nature and water adventure lovers and families. It is one of the emirate’s most important ecological assets, protected by the Environment Agency Abu Dhabi (EAD).
Did you know that Abu Dhabi’s Mangrove National Park constitutes about 75% of the total mangrove forest area in the UAE? This biodiversity hotspot includes mangrove forests, salt marshes, mudflats and algal communities. The inhabitants of this Abu Dhabi attraction include crabs, herons, flamingos, fish turtles, foraging foxes and marine mammals like dugong and dolphin.
The Mangrove National Park is a nature-filled Abu Dhabi tourist spot attracting thousands of visitors every day. The mangroves, which can reach 15 feet in height, live in saltwater and feature a long root system that ‘snorkels’ up away from plants for air.
