Abu Dhabi Cculture is a huge part of the society #InAbuDhabi. Jeremy explores the significance of the ancient culture and traditions of Abu Dhabi and how they are kept alive with a carefully curated programme for the community at Qasr Al Hosn.
Qasr Al Hosn is the ancestral home of the Royal Ffamily Al Nahyan and the symbolic heart of Abu Dhabi. It is also the oldest and most significant building in Abu Dhabi, holding the city's first permanent structure; the watchtower.
The iconic structure stands as the nation’s living memorial and the narrator of Abu Dhabi’s history. Qasr Al Hosn is part of a larger historic complex that also includes the National Consultative Council building and the Cultural Foundation.​
Transformed into a museum in 2018 following more than eleven 11 years of intensive conservation and restoration work, the culture-related activities at Qasr Al Hosn offers a reminder of Abu Dhabi’s history and heritage.

Qasr Al Hosn is home to several cultural performances and fascinating events that focus on Emirati culture and heritage.
The Al Hosn Festival A festival honoursing the iconic monument – it is is celebrated as the ‘Al Hosn Festival’ a cultural experience that reflects and reimagines Abu Dhabi’s heritage. Over eight days, this multidimensional experience – spanning art, design, cuisine and performances – presents a new perspective on culture in Abu Dhabi.
Qasr Al Hosn has also launched virtual tours so people can explore what the historic site has to offer from home.
Located at the Qasr Al Hosn site is the Cultural Foundation - – the UAE's first cultural centre dedicated to the creation and appreciation of Emirati arts and literature.
A hub of art and heritage workshops, events and unique performances, the Cultural Foundation is committed to creating an environment conducive to cultivating and elevating minds and touching the world. At the time of its opening in 1981, The Cultural Foundation housed the first National Library, along with a performance auditorium and an exhibition centre #InAbuDhabi.
